We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to campus for Our Moment, Our Momentum: The GW Centuries Celebration Weekend. To make your check-in process as smooth as possible, please review the information below prior to your arrival.

Before Your Arrival

All registrants who provided an email address will receive an email that includes a QR code for each registrant. Please print your confirmation email or be ready to pull it up on your phone when you arrive to check-in at the Welcome Center located at the University Student Center. The subject line of the email is “Our Moment, Our Momentum: The GW Centuries Celebration Weekend Confirmation” and is sent by [email protected].

All attendees, including alumni, families, students, faculty, and staff, are required to check in at the University Student Center to receive a credential before participating in events. Keep reading this page for specific instructions.

COVID-19 Health and Safety

All attendees are required to wear a mask for all indoor and outdoor events, including during the check-in process, unless you are actively eating or drinking or can maintain at least six feet of social distance outdoors.

Checking in at the Welcome Center

The Welcome Center is located on the first floor of the University Student Center at 800 21st Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 

It is important that all attendees arrive at the Welcome Center with the following:

  • A mask or face covering that is fully covering nose and mouth
  • Government-issued photo ID (attendees aged 18+ only)
  • A print or digital copy of proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of arrival (attendees aged 3+ only) 
  • A print or digital copy of your confirmation email with QR codes

The Welcome Center will be open during the following hours for attendees to check in and print credentials:

  • Friday, October 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • The Welcome Center will not be open on Sunday, October 3.

All attendees should enter the Welcome Center through the 21st Street entrance of the University Student Center where you will be directed to a COVID-19 health and safety station to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of arrival. You will then proceed to the credentials  area to officially check-in and print your event credentials. Once you have printed your event credentials, you will exit through the doors of the H Streetside of the University Student Center.

Your credential will provide access to all of the events you are registered for. It is important to keep your credential with you at all times. If you lose your credential, you must return to the Welcome Center and visit the Help Desk for assistance.

If you are not able to check-in at the Welcome Center before Commencement, there will also be limited access points at the National Mall where you will have to verify your vaccine or negative COVID-19 test documentation. If you have any questions during the check-in process, GW staff and volunteers will be available at the Welcome Center to provide directions and guidance to visitors.
